Glodeal is a UAE cross-border purchase-decision service — born from one shopper's frustration with unclear prices, hidden customs, and delivery uncertainty. We don't compete in price comparison. We sit above it, telling you whether to buy locally, import, or skip altogether.
Our story — not another price-comparison site
Glodeal didn't start as a startup idea. It started as a UAE shopper's spreadsheet. Years of buying across borders from Dubai taught one painful lesson: the headline price is never the real price. Customs surprises at delivery. ETA promises that drift two weeks. "Authentic" listings that arrive in suspicious packaging. Comparison sites showing prices no seller will actually honour.
In May 2026 we surveyed 417 UAE & KSA cross-border shoppers. The pattern was consistent: logistics uncertainty ("when will it arrive?") is the number-one anxiety; counterfeits and refurbs are the number-two concern; hidden costs at delivery erode trust; anonymous third-party sellers carry real risk; and stale prices make comparison sites unreliable. Critically, 60% of UAE shoppers are already comparing cross-border options manually — because no existing tool gives them a verdict they trust.
That's the gap. Not another price-comparison site, but a judgment layer above it: where to actually buy, at the actual total price, from a source actually worth the money.
One scope rule we don't apologise for: Glodeal focuses on purchases above AED 300. That's where a wrong call hurts — where customs, warranty and seller risk matter. Below that, just buy local.
What we believe
Four operating principles. When commercial interest conflicts with any of them, we cut the commercial interest.
Honest by default
No fake prices, no fake "lowest price" claims, no fake reviews. When local beats importing, we say so — even when it costs us the sale. Our "Don't Import" verdicts are the proof.
Judgment, not catalogue
Other sites show 50 options and call it choice. We show one verdict per product, with the data behind it. If you want a catalogue, Amazon already exists.
One price, no surprises
The price on a Glodeal decision page is the landed total — international shipping, customs, VAT, payment and FX included. For orders we fulfil, it's locked at checkout.
Data you can verify
Every price has a timestamp. Every claim has a source. If you don't trust our judgment, check the data yourself — that's why we show it.
How we work
Every verdict goes through the same pipeline. The principles are public; the specific thresholds and weights are our edge.

Glodeal Editorial is a small, growing team of researchers and analysts based in Dubai, working across UAE and global sources, writing in English with Arabic alongside. Every verdict is signed by Glodeal Editorial, dated, and scoped. We don't hide behind "the algorithm" — when we get it wrong, we say so and update.
